By installing, accessing, or using the Clean Beauty Compass browser extension ("Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

Clean Beauty Compass is a browser extension that analyzes ingredient lists from beauty and personal care products on supported e-commerce websites (including but not limited to Amazon, Sephora, and Target). The Extension provides risk assessments and safety information about product ingredients based on available scientific research and regulatory data.

The Extension is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information provided.

3. Use of the Extension

3.1 Permitted Use

You may use the Extension for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

3.2 Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Extension for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Extension
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices in the Extension
• Use the Extension in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services
• Use automated systems to access the Extension in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce

4. Intellectual Property

The Extension, including its design, functionality, and content, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights, title, and interest in and to the Extension remain with Clean Beauty Compass and its licensors.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.

We do not warrant that:

• The Extension will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• The results obtained from using the Extension will be accurate or reliable
• Any defects in the Extension will be corrected

The quality of our assessments depends on the quality of the information provided by sellers on product pages. We cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of ingredient information extracted from third-party websites.

6. Medical Disclaimer

You should always:

• Consult with healthcare professionals for concerns about product ingredients and their effects on your health
• Verify ingredient information directly with manufacturers for critical decisions
• Consider your individual health conditions, allergies, and sensitivities when making purchasing decisions

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLEAN BEAUTY COMPASS AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION.

Clean Beauty Compass is provided free of charge. Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Extension shall not exceed $0.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Clean Beauty Compass and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Extension
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right

9. Third-Party Services

The Extension may use third-party services, including but not limited to Supabase for data storage and retrieval. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of any third-party services used by the Extension.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Extension is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Extension at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser.

12. Changes to the Extension

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Extension, or any part thereof, at any time with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Extension.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Clean Beauty Compass operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Clean Beauty Compass regarding the use of the Extension and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
